Description

Bold yet elegant, fully-concentrated aroma of dark fruit with layers of spice and Jamaican pepper Medium-bodied and elegant in proportion, vibrantly rich and ripe, succulently sweet fruit flavours of dark raspberries, boysenberries, black pepper and iron earth are enriched and enlivened by fresh acidity. The fruit is supported by fine, grainy tannin structure that provides palate line and a balancing, textured mouthfeel. This is well composed and the flavours flow with good energy to a dry, elegant, sustained finish.

Vineyard

Single vineyard wine, 100% Chave clone. Planted in 2005, in the Gimblett Road sub Region. Pruned to 2 cane VSP. Cropped to 3.0 tonne / Acre. All the grapes used for this wine are grown on a sustainable viticulture approved site

Vinification

The grapes were gently machine harvested and sorted, gently destemmed to small open top tanks. The must was left to soak until the wild ferment took over. Fermentation was conducted warm to give the wild yeast free reign on fruit flavours and texture ferment lasted approximately 2 weeks. Just post to completing fermentation, the wine was pressed off skins, and put to barrel for extended maturation. The wine underwent a wild Malo-Lactic fermentation in barrel for 12 months. Keeping in line with Moana Park’s philosophies, this product has had no animal products, sugar or additives of any type used on it

Maturation

100% tank fermented, 100% matured in French oak barriques.
