Description

Aroma: Ripe rock melon, lime blossom and lemon zest jump from the glass. Expressive and varietal, this Riesling makes a statement of the terroir it was sourced from. Palate: With a pure and linear entry, the surprise of the fullness of the mid palate is only surpassed by the length and cleanliness of the finish. A phenolic persistence ensures this wine lingers for minutes, making this a salivating experience.

Pale lemon in colour, the nose is filled with crunchy green apple, juicy lemon, and lime with beautiful honeysuckle notes. The palate is refreshing and crisp, filled with delicious citrus and tree fruit with a burst of acidity and a long mineral and lime filled finish. A stunning wine that’s perfect for drinking on a sunny afternoon. RRP $35 - 5 Stars Angie Atkinson The Wine Writer - Oct 2021
Bright, pale yellow, even colour throughout. The nose is crisp with soft aromas of apple, lime and lime flower and melon suggestions. Medium-light bodied, crunchy aromas of green apple, lime interweave lime blossom and zest. The mouthfeel possesses fine-textured phenolics reminiscent of apple skins and chalky minerals. Taut acidity provides a salivating, focused drive and a long, crisp finish. Match this with steamed/ raw seafood and linguine vongole over the next 5 years. Handpicked, whole bunch pressed, fermented in stainless steel to 11% alc, 6g/l RS, spent a short amount of time on light lees. No fining. Vineyard

The soils of Te Muna Terraces are deep, free-draining alluvial gravel, which are rich in minerals making it ideal for growing grapes. The climate is an extension of Martinborough and similar to Burgundy, being only slightly cooler due to higher altitude, but with long cool summers and low rainfall providing the optimum long ripening conditions for grapes.

Vinification

The grapes were hand-harvested, then whole bunch pressed straight to Stainless steel vessels before overnight settling. After racking and warming, the juice was fermented for 17 days at 14°C and stopped once balance with the RS had been achieved. A short amount of time on light fluffy lees gave the wine a fullness in the mid palate, however the stainless steel preserved the fruit purity. The wine received no fining, and only a light filtration before bottling.
