Rapaura Springs Rohe Awatere Valley Pinot Noir 2021

This elegant Pinot Noir has lifted floral aromatics, with layers of red cherry, plum and bright raspberry. The pure fruit flavours are balanced with a subtle toasty oak influence, fine tannins, texture and acidity. The wine finishes elegant and long. It is immediately enjoyable but will continue to drink well for the next five years.

Rapaura Springs Rohe Blind River Sauvignon Blanc

The soils in the Awatere are complex, encompassing a matrix of shallow to moderately deep silty loams, with pockets of sand, gravel and clay on higher terraces. The sub-region is drier and cooler with plenty of lowvigour sites, well suited to Pinot Noir.

The fruit for this wine was hand-harvested from lowvigour clay terrace vineyards planted in traditional Dijon clones. The fruit was cold soaked for five days, prior to fermentation, including 23% whole bunch fermentation. After fermentation, the must was pressed and the wine aged for ten months in French Oak, including 38% new oak.
