Gibbston Valley Glenlee Pinot Noir 2018 2018

The beauty of Gibbston threads through this wine. From its delightful bouquet to its wistful lingering thread of tannin, it embodies the site and region. Wild herbs and buoyant red fruit aromatics lead into a long, delicate palate and an elegant, gently sappy finish.

Glenlee Vineyard is located in Gibbston on what was once a sheep station. Both of these sites produce high-quality and complex fruit used in our single vineyard varietals including our premium range of Pinot Noirs.

Picked a month earlier than typical in the final week of March, the fruit was e ven with full flavour de velopmen t. The fruit was divided in to two fermenters, each with a different proportion of whole cluster. Handling in the fermen ter w as very gen tle, with punch downs limited to one per day during active fermentation. After the indigenous fermentation, the wine was pressed and sen t to barrel for maturation and natural MLF. After 11 months in French oak, 25% new, the wine was r acked into tank and bottled.
