Vineyard
Coastal. Cool. The two vineyards are both close to the ocean; one is in the Awatere Valley on the side of a hill, and the other is in the 17 Valley at sea level but only a few hundred metres from the coast.
Vinification
Extended cold soak prior to fermentation. Pressed to barrels for malolactic fermentation & maturation. Approximately 3% of the blend was whole bunch fermented before being pressed to barrel.
Maturation
10 months in French Oak. Only 10% new so that fruit is not dominated.
