Description
‘Razorback’ is a word that evokes images of rugged peaks, and a harsh, but beautiful, landscape. 2018 in Central Otago was warm, with plenty of rain. Vineyards had grass in them, where there would normally just be dirt! We harvested fully five weeks ahead of normal, sourcing our fruit from the Wooing Tree block near the centre of Cromwell. The handpicked fruit was trucked overnight to Auckland. The wine had almost three weeks on skins and was pressed to French oak (just under 20% new). Thirteen months in oak followed. Post assemblage, the wine was lightly fined, filtered and bottled.
