Description

Select blocks of B-95 clone chardonnay, hand-harvested from the 'Awa' (River) Block in our Whenua Awa vineyard, Upper Awatere Valley, Marlborough. Whole-bunch pressed into older French oak 500 litre puncheons for fermentation with a combination of wild and cultivated yeasts. Post-fermentation each barrel underwent twice-weekly batonage. Natural malolactic fermentation occurred in spring. Only the best barrels selected for the final blend. Bottled March 2020. Juicy ripe stonefruit, pink grapefruit and smoky oak. Fresh citrus, juicy summer fruits and hints of toasted nut and flint.
