Vineyard

Grapes sourced from the Rothay vineyard located in Marlborough's Rapaura sub-region of the Wairau Valley. The 2022-23 growing season was generally cloudy and wet over the summer, however dedication in the vineyard kept disease pressure at bay. Autumn delivered optimal harvest conditions with a slow, long ripening season allowing fruit to be picked with the perfect balance of flavours and ripeness.

Vinification

Grapes were gently pressed to tank before being cold settled over 48 hours. After settling the juice was racked and inoculated with yeast selected to retain purity in the finished wine. After initial fermentation the wine underwent secondary malolactic fermentation with weekly lees stirring to build texture and complexity while still retaining freshness. Aged in tank for six months.
