Description

Nothing’s quite as fun as our Riesling. It’s like biting into a deliciously crisp Granny Smith apple while simultaneously licking lime sherbet and apricot. So easy to drink, with the perfect balance of fruit sweetness and fresh acidity at a modest 9% alcohol. A much better way to enjoy life.

Awards

93 Points | Excellent | Cameron Douglas
Fragrant, fresh and enticing with lifted aromatics of lemon and white peach, pineapple and limeflower, some white blossom and a touch of spice. Off-dry on the palate with a luscious sweetness and fruit flavours that mirror the bouquet. Contrasting acidity adds crispness and balance, while the fruit flavours at the core remain persistent adding length. A lovely wine, fresh, bright nd tasty. Best drinking from 2022 through 2030+.

The Doctors' Riesling

Vineyard

The Doctors' Riesling grapes are grown on two distinctly different sites. The Wairau River Valley; gravel rich, free draining and devigourating soil profile, giving citrus flavours, fine acidity, low pH and most interestingly an amazing minerality. Our Southern Valleys vineyard, on geologically older soil of crushed rock mixed with a portion of clay, gives a much more exotic fruit flavour profile – stone fruit, citrus, spice and a distinctive “biscuity” minerality.

Vinification

The grapes were machine harvested in the cool of the morning, cold settled and cool fermented in stainless steel tanks prior to blending and finishing for bottling in spring.
