Description
Sourced from a single parcel of Sauvignon Blanc from our biodynamically farmed Raupo Creek vineyard in the Omaka Valley. Marama shows the wonderful diversity that Sauvignon Blanc can show, when grown and crafted with a different philosophy in mind. Fleshy and concentrated, Marama is laden with aromas of tropical fruits that marry with flinty, savoury notes. Wild fermentation, extended lees contact and barrel aging including new French Oak has ensured that the palate is complex, full and structured. A hugely evocative and seductive wine. Drink now and cellar up to 2033.

Vineyard
Sourced from our old vines that thrive on river silt terraces in the Central Wairau Valley as well as our clay-rich Raupo Creek vineyard, which has a gentle north-west facing aspect, settled in the centre of the Omaka Valley. Both vineyards are managed following Organic and Biodynamic principles.
Vinification
Hand harvested and whole bunch pressed, with the free run settled before being racked to French oak barrels and puncheons. Each individual component fermented naturally on lees, and also went through malolactic fermentation during this period. After 14 months on lees in oak, the components were blended and filtered prior to bottling. 23% new oak is included in this blend.
